2020 Capcom Pro Tour removes three events due to COVID-19 scare
All CPT points from the three events have been removed from the 2020 season.
Capcom has removed Brussels Challenge 2020, Norcal Regionals 2020, and April Annihilation 2020 from this year’s Capcom Pro Tour lineup. The company will no longer count any CPT points from the three events for the entire season. All points for future events will remain the same.
Capcom joins the list of companies and event organizers that have been forced to take precautionary measures in light of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The Brussels event is officially cancelled, while the latter two are still on track to push through at the time of writing.
Capcom issued their statement on Twitter, apologizing to the players, community members, and production partners who were inconvenienced by their decision.

Brussels Challenge 2020 event organizer Younes “CCL” Lazaar also announced their official decision to cancel the event around the same time that Capcom made their decision public.
This is with profound sadness that we have to cancel#brusselschallenge2020 due to the increasing risks associated with the Coronavirus outbreak. This decision did not come lightly. Please stay safe everyone and see you soonpic.twitter.com/KVY9xLsBix
Brussels Challenge 2020 was set to kick off the new CPT season on March 20-22 in Brussels, Belgium.
Meanwhile, the NorCal Regionals 2020 is still scheduled for April 10 in San Jose, California. April Annihilation 2020 is still slated to take place on the same weekend in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
With the first three events removed from the season, the upcoming CPT season will instead begin with The MIXUP 2020 on April 18 in Lyon, France.
With fewer CPT points for players to earn, this means qualifying for Capcom Cup 2020 will be much more difficult and placing in tournaments is going to be much more important compared to the previous season.
