As always, theLeague of Legends Pro League (LPL)in China was the first major region to kick off the Spring season.

After ten weeks of regular season gameplay with 17 teams battling it out in best-of-threes, it will head into the LPL Spring 2023 Playoffs.

Unlike previous years, besides crowning the Spring champion, we’re actually getting two winners.

Two LPL teams will be representing the region at the Mid-Season Invitational.MSI 2023 is bringing something new to the Riftwith a Play-In Stage and Bracket Stage with a double-elimination format.

All major regions have been given two slots, so it’ll be double the trouble and double the fun.

Out of the 17 franchised esports organizations, only the top 10 will qualify for playoffs. It will follow a king of the hill, then into a double elimination format that the league adopted in 2021.

Their placement in the regular season determines which round they are seeded into.

Worlds 2021 champions Edward Gamingunderwent a major roster overhaul during the offseason. Only two players from the championship winning squad, Zhao “Jiejie” Li-Jie and Tian “Meiko” Ye, have remained, and it seems that it’s more than enough.

JD Gaming, who made deep runs at Worlds 2020 and 2022, bolstered its lineup by replacing Wang “Hope” Jie with star Korean bot laner Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk.

These Worlds-standard teams are definitely favorites going into the LPL Spring 2023 playoffs.
