After dropping its entire Valorant roster except for Spencer “Hiko” Martin (which made space for two veteran NA CS:GO players,Nick “nitr0” CannellaandJosh “steel” Nissan), 100 Thieves spent over a month trying out new players, with the goal of putting together the best Valorant team in the world.
Asuna and Diceyzx were part of NA organization Immortals during Riot’s Ignition Series competitions. The two young players provided Immortals firepower that could rival even teams like TSM and Sentinels.
Immortals made the transfer official by announcing, “We were able to construct a roster that performed above expectations, and teams have taken note. We are excited to grow talent within our organization and see them advance their careers even if it is not under the IMT banner.”
According to 100 Thieves team captain Hiko, Asuna and Diceyzx will take over the duelist roles for the squad. Hiko also mentioned that he has subsequently taken over the role of playing Sova, while nitr0 and steel will be playing support around the two “boomers, the two children.”
“Our plan to fill out the roster was to get some young, up-and-coming players that we could develop into becoming superstars,” Hiko explained. “I am really excited. I fully believe [in] this roster, and I have full faith.
Hiko revealed that 100 Thieves’ Valorant roster will make its debut duringRiot’s First Strike tournament, which is set to take place from October to December of this year.
