Moonton confirmed thatMobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional LeagueSingapore Season 5 (MPL SG Season 5) will happen soon.
Like in previous seasons, Moonton opened up two open qualifier slots for amateur teams looking to join the league this season.
How to join the MPL SG Season 5 open qualifiers?
To register, form a team of five and fill up the team captain’s information on theirwebsite. Be prepared to upload your team logo, Discord details, and other personal information.
Registrations will close on February 15, 11:59 p.m. GMT+8. The open qualifiers will happen on February 18 to 19, wherein the top two teams will join the top six teams in Season 4. The second day of the open qualifiers will be livestreamed.
The eight qualified teams in Season 5 will then compete for the lion’s share of the SGD$100,000 prize pool, and a chance to represent Singapore at theMobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cupin June.
“MPL Singapore remains committed to our aim of enabling professional esports athletes to compete at the highest levels of sportsmanship,” said Jaime Cruz, Esports Lead at MPL Singapore. “Given the right resources and support, we believe that our esports players can surpass other regional and international teams.”
Last season, defending championRSG SGwas triumphant in a seven-game thriller against rival Slate Esports, composed of former members ofEVOS SGmembers, in the grand final.
Teams who won in the open qualifier last season such as Stellark and Team SMG had commendable performances in the regular season, and were able to retain their slot after placing fifth and sixth respectively in the regular season.
MPL SG Season 5 will start on March 11.
