Blacklist International refutes claims its players criticized MPL ID teams

Don’t believe everything you see online.

Filipino and Indonesian MPL fans were abuzz on social media after controversial statements from Blacklist International players and coaching staff circulated online.

In one of these now-deleted posts, MPL PH Season 10 regular season MVPJohnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villalunaallegedly called out EVOS Legends for not reaching theMPL ID Season 10 playoffs.

There was another post claiming that the veteran player belittled MPL ID defending championRRQ Hoshi, saying that they were the easiest to face at the M3 World Championship.

Gold lanerKiel “OHEB” Sorianowasn’t spared. In a separate post, he allegedly said that EVOS Legends did not deserve to reach the playoffs, and said that they played like “elementary school children.”

Despite not providing any sources, these quote cards quickly spread online and sparked numerous debates in MPL fan groups about their legitimacy.

The organization was quick to defend its players and released a statement onFacebookrefuting the posts, moments after the quotes went viral a few days ago.

“Though they are opponents in-game, we have the utmost respect for these teams and their players,” they wrote.

“We are releasing this statement to officially confirm that these posts are untrue and to protect our players from the attacks they are wrongfully receiving online.”

It encouraged fans to properly check their sources to avoid spreading fake news.

Blacklist International is set to face the winner of Bren Esports and rival Smart Omega in the playoffs on October 21, Saturday, at 5 p.m. GMT+8.
