Fans can expect double the action!
Heads up, Call of Duty Mobile fans!
Activision has announced the official format of the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2021 Finals.
While many fans and analysts were hoping for an all-out LAN setting, Activision opted to host the final tournament in an online format for the safety of regional teams.
The Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2021 reveals its format for the final event
“As always, we put the safety and well-being of our players first. The Call of Duty: Mobile Stage 5: World Championship Finals will be broken up into two finals events,” wrote Activision on the tournament website.
Though the online format is fairly common in the competitive circuit, this will be the first time that the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship will feature cross-regional competition.
The Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2021 will have a two-day finals that utilizes an all-new format.
Day one of each final will have a 12-team round robin format to determine the top four teams that will move on to the next day.
Day two will feature a double-elimination bracket to determine the world champions of the Call of Duty Mobile 2021 season.
More teams will participate in each tournament
With the initially seeded squads now splitting between the two regional events, Activision has added a handful of teams to round out the competition.
Stage 5: Western Finals: December 4 to 5
Stage 5: Eastern Finals: December 11 to 12
