Chinese teams book Japan tickets early and secure spots for Masters Tokyo
ASE is VCT ready.
The first two teams to secure their spots at Riot Games’ second international LAN event of the year have been announced, and neither hails from theVCT leagues.
Attacking Soul Esports(ASE) andEdward Gaming(EDG) have secured their position as China’s representatives forMasters Tokyoas the top two teams from the FGC Valorant Invitational.
Of the 12 Chinese teams in the competition, ASE emerged victorious as the champion, while EDG finished as the runner-up.

ASE and EDG were undoubtedly the strongest teams in the tournament, achieving perfect 5-0 records during the group stage.
The grand final between these two teams was a thrilling back-and-forth battle, with ASE falling behind 2-1 at the start of the series. However, after impressive victories on Icebox and Ascent, ASE managed to stage a stunning comeback to win the tournament.
ASE will make their international Valorant debut in Japan as the top-seeded Chinese team. Meanwhile, EDG will be participating in its fourth international Valorant event.
EDG made an impressive VCT debut last year, sweeping through the East Asia Last Chance Qualifier with a perfect 9-0 record. Despite their early success, the Chinese squad failed to make a mark at theValorant Champions 2022andVCT LOCK//IN, and were eliminated early on in both tournaments.
The two Chinese squads will be joined by the top four teams from the EMEA league, along with the top three squads from the respectiveAmericasandPacificleagues.
Masters Tokyobegins on June 11 and will continue until June 25.
