Dota Pro Circuit: Valve moves Major/Minor Qualifier dates to make way for Midas Mode 2.0
A fan-favorite community event is saved!
Valve has announced that the first Major/Minor Qualifiers will happen on October 5 to October 10 in order to accommodate the Midas Mode 2.0 event.
The qualifiers were originally scheduled for September 30 to October 5, while Midas Mode 2.0 — also entitled Sir Sadim’s Revenge — is slated for September 24 to October 2.

Midas Modeis a unique game mode in Dota 2 that has every team competing in community-set challenges instead of the traditional Dota 2 game.
Each team is given a set of starting currency called Moonbucks, which are used for actions like drafting heroes, banning heroes, pausing, and picking sides. Teams have to choose how to spend their Moonbucks wisely, as each hero’s Moonbucks price tags vary depending on how well they are doing in the tournament.
The event also has a map-selling feature called “The Million Dollar Midas Mode Project” that lets the community buy certain parts of the map, which will then be swapped with custom-made models.
Jake “SirActionsSlacks” Kanner, together with the Moonduck Studio team that is hosting Midas Mode 2.0, was devastated that their event dates coincided with the first Major/Minor Qualifiers when the news initially broke.

At the time, Midas Mode 2.0 already had a venue booked at the Localhost Arena LAN Cafe in Denver, Colorado. It also had a US$150,000 prize pool.
SirActionSlacks thanked Valve for their decision to adjust the qualifier schedule to accommodate the Midas Mode 2.0 event.
