E3 2020 has been canceled
ESA is making plans to hold the 3-day event online instead.
The biggest gaming event of the year, Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), has been canceled due to the alarming threat of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
The decision was made with careful consideration of E3’s staff, partner companies, and most especially its attendees as revealed in anofficial statement.
“Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today,” according to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).
Full refunds will be given out to the event’s exhibitors and ticket-holders.
ESA is making plans to somehow hold the three-day show online in June. More details will be announced on theirwebsitesoon.
E3 2020 was originally scheduled for June 9 – 11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. It is an annual event for showcasing upcoming games and huge announcements from big gaming companies.
