Echo Fox plans to sell LoL spot to comply with LCS demand

Esports organizationEcho Foxwill be leaving the LCS soon.

The organization has decided to sell its current LCS spot to a new team, according to a tweet by theLeague of LegendsChampionship Series (LCS). This is in compliance with the demanded corrective action by the MOBA game’s esports league.

Echo Fox has submitted a proposal to sell its slot in the LCS to a new ownership group. The LCS is reviewing the potential sale and will be meeting with the proposed ownership group in the coming days.

The new group has not yet been officially named, but the LCS revealed that they will be negotiating with them this week.

US-based entertainment company Kroenke Sports & Entertainment was reported to be the buyer of the available slot, according to anarticleby ESPN. They have “agreed to a deal that will see it acquire Echo Fox’s League of Legends Championship Series slot for $30.25 million”.

Earlier in May 2019, LCS Commissioner Chris Greeley issuedan official warning to Echo Foxfollowing racist statements made by a shareholder inside the organization. Echo Fox founder Rick Foxhad considered stepping down over the issue.
