ESL announces SEA Dota 2 Championship
The tournament will also pave the way for SEA teams looking to compete in ESL One Birmingham in May.
ESL has announced that they will be hosting the ESL Dota 2 SEA Championship, which will feature eight teams from Southeast Asia vying for the lion’s share of a US$20,000 prize pool and a direct berth to the region’s closed qualifiers for ESL One Birmingham 2020.
Four of the participating teams will be directly invited to the tournament, while the other four will have to qualify for the event through two separate online open qualifiers.
ESL will host the SEA Dota 2 Championships with an aim to create more opportunities for teams in the region and provide a direct connection between their regional and global events, most notably itsBirmingham tournament in May.
ESL One Birmingham will feature 12 teams competing for a US$300,000 prize pool, with one Southeast Asian team getting a spot through the regional qualifiers.
ESL will also be hosting theESL One Los Angeles Majorin March, which will be the third Major event of the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit.
