The ESL One Berlin Major will be the first LAN event on the new Dota 2 patch 7.33 — and it kicks off with a bang with a lengthy group stage.
While teams jostle for better positions heading into the playoffs, a total of 72 games will let viewers peer into the resulting meta from the world-shaping changes the New Frontiers update.
ESL One Berlin Major group stage format
The Berlin Major’s group stage will see the teams split into two different groups of nine. Each team will play a best-of-two round-robin for a total of 16 games, which determines their final standings.
The top four teams in each group are seeded to the upper bracket of the playoffs. The next two teams will start their main event run in the lower bracket. The last three teams in each group will be eliminated outright.
