On the first day of thegroup stage, Lancelot was picked only twice in 12 games, both ending in losses.
The rise of thetank junglermeta and the growing prominence ofJoyandNolanin the current meta led to the decreased usage of the assassin hero.
In an exclusive interview with ONE Esports during theMobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Invitational 2023(MPLI 2023), ECHO junglerKarl “KarlTzy” Nepomucenosays that Lancelot remains viable, provided players ensure these conditions are met during the game.

“The hero is still strong,” he said. “But securing the first Turtle is crucial to snowball; otherwise, he won’t be that effective throughout the game.”
He also added that the once-popular tank Lancelot build is still effective against certain lineups.
“If the enemy has a squishy lineup, go for the damage build, and if the enemy’s team composition is tanky, go for the tank build.”
Lastly, he emphasized the importance of practicing the hero first before playing him in ranked games.
“Don’t lose your dash, as accuracy over speed is key,” he stressed. “And prioritize farming before going into team fights.”
