Faker’s contract expires today, reportedly considering these two LCS teams

The three-time League of Legends world champion came close to lifting the Summoner’s Cup for a fourth time, but fell short whenT1 lost to DRX 3-2 in the final, which many fans have deemed the bestWorlds series of all time.

Based on Riot Games’ official Global Contract Database, the 26-year-old pro player’s contract with T1 expires today, November 21. He is still a part owner of T1 Entertainment and Sports, which he finalized in 2020 when he re-signed with the organization, one that he’s been with since the start of his career in 2013.

Faker is currently in negotiations with multiple organizations, including LCS teams

Based on the report fromblix.gg, Team Liquid and FlyQuest have shown interest in the star mid laner. Team Liquid, in particular, has already made their offer after multiple rounds of negotiations.

The organization’s rebuilding for the 2023 season is in motion. Over the weekend, it announced the signing of Faker’s former SK Telecom T1 teammate and 2015 World Championship winner,Jang “MaRin” Gyeong-hwan, as their head coach.

An all-Korean speaking team might be in the works, one centered around Team Liquid’s support player and Worlds 2017 winner, Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in.

Among the T1 squad, only Faker’s contract expires this year. Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok have contracts that end in November 2023. Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong’s position as head coach for the 2023 season was also solidified last week.
