French gaming stream raises a record US$3.9M for charity
Superstar streamer, Ninja, donated a hefty €26,000 to the stream.
French charity gaming stream, Z Event, set a new record for the biggest amount of money raised for charity by streaming games with over €3.5 million (~US$3.9 million) raised for the Pasteur Institute, a non-profit organization that works on research and vaccines for various diseases.
The event ran from September 20-23, with an initial goal of €3 million. With 55 streamers participating in the charity stream, the event reached its goal on the third day.
Superstar streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins helped push the event past its goal with a hefty €26,000 (~US$29,000) donation, much to the delight of the participants.

The event also caught the attention of French President, Emmanuel Macron, who congratulated the streamers for their accomplishment on Twitter.

“55 French gamers have just raised more than 3 million euros over a weekend for the benefit of the Pasteur Institute. You are inspiring and you show us that anything is possible to support a cause for which we believe. Well done!” said Macron.
The charity stream would later go offline after reaching over €3.5 million, beating the previous record of US$3.7 million set by charity stream GuardianCon for St Jude’s Research Hospital back in June.
