Here’s what you need to know about G2 Valorant’s newest member, Zeek

Zeek will make his debut with G2 on February 11.

G2 Esports has announced that Alexander “Zeek” Zygmunt will be the fifth member of its highly successful Valorant roster.

G2’s newest member is an ex-Fortnite pro who competed in the European region. Zeek began his Fortnite esports career in 2018 and competed in various Epic Games tournaments.

Zeek then made the switch to Valorant upon the game’s release. He first played with all-Polish squad Those Guys and won different lower tier tournaments. Then, in October, Zeek joined nolpenki, an unsigned European roster that made it into First Strike Europe last December.

Nolpenki was eliminated from First Strike Europe by FunPlus Phoenix in the quarterfinals, but Zeek was undoubtedly the team’s best player in both games, as he scored the highest ACS (average combat score) with 243.

It’s quite clear that Zeek is a talented player who can frag out just as well as any of G2’s players. But this does not address the team’s IGL (in-game leader) problem that the organization mentioned in the past.

G2 will also be adding ex-CS:GO pro Neil “nEiLZiNHo” Finlay as the team’s new coach. The retired CS:GO pro has spent the last three years of his professional esports career coaching various British CS:GO rosters, and has now decided to cross over to coaching in Valorant.

While Zeek and nEiLZiNHo are great additions to G2’s Valorant roster, they are still lacking an IGL. This is an issue the team brought up when they decided to part ways with David “davidp” Prins.

G2’s Valorant roster

During G2’s First Strike tournament run, the team was upset by tournament champions Team Heretics in the semifinals. Moving forward for the Champions Tour series, expectations for G2 Esports remain high after their stellar Ignition Series tournament run, where they won all seven events.

Fans can check out G2 Esports’ new roster in action on February 11, when the Valorant Challengers series begins for the European region.
