Iceiceice’s new roster, Team SMG, will not play TI11 SEA qualifiers
It’s a terrible time for rain.
Updated September 2, 9:40 p.m. (GMT+8):Team SMG’s CEO, Kenchi Yap, will step down from his role, after the disqualification of the roster from The International 11 Southeast Asia qualifiers.
Daryl “iceiceice” Koh will not be playing in front of his home crowd for The International 11.
Team SMG, who recruitediceiceice and Wilson “poloson” Kohas their new members for the qualifiers, will not be participating, the organization confirmed with ONE Esports.
Several SEA teams, including SMG, did not register their new players ahead of the cut-off time for roster registration. Many other organizations opted to contest the qualifiers with their old registered rosters—including Nigma Galaxy SEA,Polaris Esports, andArmy Geniuses.

But this doesn’t seem to be the case for Team SMG, which had anotable fallout with one of their former players. This means that iceiceice, who’s participated in nine out of the 10 Internationals so far—only missing TI7—will be missing another one.
The TI11 SEA qualifiers will feature 13 different teams across the Dota Pro Circuit Divisions I and II vying for just three spots.
The winner of the qualifier will be directly placed into the TI11 group stages, while the second and third teams will go on to contest a last-chance wildcard featuring 12 teams from six regions.
Only two teams will come out of the wildcard, making for a total of 20 hopefuls through the main event in Singapore.
