One of the longest-standing Dota 2 organizations in North America has ceased its operations.
North American esports organization J.Storm has formally announced that they have ceased the operations of their Dota 2 team after “reevaluating commitments” moving into the new year.
The former J.Storm players notably already played in the ESL One Los Angeles Major qualifiers as well as the StarLadder ImbaTV Kyiv Minor 2020 under the team name Business Associates.
J.Storm first started as VGJ.Storm in 2017, the North American team of the VGJ organization created in 2016 as a joint venture between China Digital Culture (Group) Limited, Chinese esports organization Vici Gaming, and international basketball star Jeremy Lin, who the team was named after.
The organization re-branded to J.Storm in 2018 due to the end of their partnership with Vici Gaming and to comply with the new team ownership rules introduced for the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit.
