Mushi is a long time pro who started his professional career in 2011 under Orange Esports that featured an all-Malaysian squad. Mushi then joined the infamous Dota 2 superteam Team DK in 2014.

Joining Mushi is ninjaboogie, a fellow veteran player who is most known for helping Filipino esports squad Mineski win PGL Open Bucharest 2017 and Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018.

The team is rounded out by formerEHOME carry player vtFaded, ex-RNG support player ah fu, and up-and-coming midlaner Neah666, who was previously with Buriram United FC Esports.

Team SMG’s Dota 2 roster

Before unveiling the new roster, JJ Lin also shared his affinity for Dota saying, “[It] was the game that got me into gaming seriously.” He also shared that in 2016 he had the honor of creating the first music pack for Dota 2 called the Timekeeper music pack, which he performed at the Shanghai Major.

Team SMG’s goal for its new Dota 2 roster is to make it to TI10. For that to happen, they must first qualify for the 2021 DPC Regional League. And sinceTeam SMG was not included as one of the eight teams participating in the closed qualifier, they will need to go through the open qualifier if they hope to join Southeast Asia’s Regional League.
