LEC is the latest esports league to be suspended by COVID-19

LEC has reason to suspect a LEC staff member may have been exposed to the virus.

TheLeague of LegendsEuropean Championship has suspended its spring season in response to the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

The news follows theLCS, which has also suspended all games.

The European league has assured that it is taking “an abundance of caution” with its players and staff. Although no players or LEC staff members have tested positive for COVID-19, the LEC has reason to suspect a LEC staff member may have been exposed to the virus.

Although no plans have been announced to resume the spring season, the LEC is likely to officiate remote games with players playing in their headquarters or homes.
