The LoL patch 14.17 release date is approaching, marking a significant step in Riot Games’ efforts to refine the LoL meta before theLeague of LegendsWorld Championship (Worlds 2024).

Thispre-Worlds patchintroduces a series of adjustments, buffs, and nerfs targeting ADCs and support champions, aiming to create a more balanced and exciting competitive environment for the global stage.

LoL patch 14.17 preview

ADCs have been dominating due to the combined impact of rune changes and item adjustments. To address this, Riot is nerfing runes that are popular among ADCs, and making further adjustments to champions like Ashe and Ezreal.

On the support side, the meta has shifted away from ranged supports due to various changes throughout the year. Riot is investigating potential adjustments to bring ranged supports back into viability in hopes of creating a balanced support meta.

Overall, there are buffs to five champions and nerfs to a total of 13 champions.
