LoL world champions FunPlus Phoenix donate ¥2M to Wuhan coronavirus victims
The Chinese squad is putting its Worlds 2019 prize winnings to good use.
League of Legends reigning World champions,FunPlus Phoenix, have announced that they are donating ¥2 million (US$290,000) to help combat the WuhanCoronavirusepidemic.
According to a statement from the China-based organization, the donation will go towards purchasing medical supplies and will also directly support the city of Wuhan.
The coronavirus has claimed the lives of over 200 victims as the infection count nears 10,000 worldwide, with more than 15 countries affected.
Earlier this week, China’sLeague of Legends Pro Leaguemade a moveto postpone its 2020 LPL Spring Split in light of the outbreak that’s affecting the country and its neighboring locations.
