LPL All-Star Weekend postponed due to COVID-19 breakout in Chengdu

An elderly couple was diagnosed two days ago.

The LPL All-Star Weekend that was set to take place on December 11 and 12 in the city of Chengdu has been postponed due to a new outbreak of COVID-19 cases in the city.

On 8 December, there were two new cases reported in Chengdu, located in the West of China. Since then, more than 255,000 people have undergone testing for COVID-19.

LPL allstar weekend might take a hit, there are two new covid-19 cases yesterday in Chengdu a where the allstar weekend event would’ve been hosted at. In a leaked document it showed one of the places a diagnosed patient visited is only 30 minutes drive from the venue.

Due to safety concerns of players, fans, and staff, the LPL has officially announced that their All-Star Weekend has been postponed. A new date and location will be announced soon.

As of 9 December, there are 94,500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China, and 117 new cases according to the World Health Organization.
