For the first time, the LPL Spring 2023 playoffs this year will send two teams to MSI 2023 instead of just one after Riot Games made changes to the international tournament’s format.

The top two finalist teams will represent the region in London in May.

LPL Summer 2022 was won by JD Gaming, who took first seed at Worlds 2023. This season, they’ve upgraded their roster to include former Samsung and Gen.G bot laner Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, finishing at the top of the table once again.

The LPL Spring 2023 playoffs adopts a king of the hill format. Each team’s regular season placing determines which round they kickoff their journey.

The first three rounds are single elimination. Double elimination starts in Round 4, where the top two teams of the regular season are seeded.

From then on, the bracket will be double elimination, including a lower bracket finals and upper bracket semifinals to determine the top two finalist teams.
