Make use of this Cypher trapwire spot to hard counter Jett on Ascent
Caught one!
Moroccan information broker Cypher is a one-man army when it comes to locking down sites and gathering information on enemy movements.
The Valorant sentinel can lay down Trapwires that reveal enemy locations and stop them in their tracks — unless they destroy them first.
His Trapwire is integral to watching out for sneaky flanks, or denying entry to sites. And as it turns out, it’s also a great counter toJettin certain scenarios (thank Riot fornot allowing Jett’s Tailwind to break a Trapwireanymore).
In the lower final of theValorant Champions TourEurope Stage 1: Challengers 1,Team Vitalitywent up against BIG in a best-of-five series, where BIG’sKasper “kaspe” Timonenshowed exactly how to shut downJetton B site in Ascent asCypher.
This is the best spot to place Cypher’s Trapwire on Ascent to counter Jett
A cleverly placed Trapwire in a spot high up on Ascent’s B Lane catches Vakaris “vakk” Bebravičius’ Jett off guard when he updrafts right into it while using Blade Storm.
With vakk tethered and his location revealed, kaspe easily peeked out from the back site to kill him.
It’s a brilliant bit of foresight on the part of kaspe, as his team expected vakk to activate Blade Storm.
Other elements of kaspe’s defensive setup include Cypher’s Cyber Cage and a Spycam directly above B Lane, potentially allowing you to mark enemies pushing Lane and then shoot them through the Cyber Cage.
Of course, this particular Trapwire is extremely situational, but if you’ve got an enemy Jett that loves to updraft into B Lane, this Trapwire spot might just be the perfect counter to that.
