Malaysia is thinking of hosting the 2020 Mobile Legends World Cup
The country’s Youth and Sports Minister has suggested that this could be happening.
Malaysia has beengoing in big on esports, and is now looking at popular MOBA game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The country’s Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahmantold reportersthat he did not “discount the possibility of bidding to host the Mobile Legends World Cup next year”.
The popular phone MOBA from Shanghai-based developer Moonton has seen lots of success in Southeast Asia and in the US, and hasmade more than US$200 million since its launch in 2016. It will be one of the six official esports games that will be played at the upcoming SEA Games held in the Philippines.
The upcoming Mobile Legends World Cup has not yet had a date set, but it will involve players from the US, South America, Europe and Asia.
