Mario Kart Tour tops App Store charts as most downloaded free game of 2019

You could pretty much say they’re the first-place finishers.

Nintendo’s mobile game titleMario Kart Tourgarnered the most number of app downloads in the Apple App Store among free games throughout the year.

The game was the main highlight in the App Store’sBest of 2019 Game Trends of the Year, which showcased popular games that were reinvented for the iOS platform. Telltale Games’ AR title Minecraft Earth came next on the list.

In addition to Apple’s glowing recognition, Mario Kart Tour also bagged Google Play’s Best Casual Games of 2019 award, whileCall of Duty: Mobilewas voted by users as the Best Game in the Google Play Best of 2019.

Mario Kart Tour was released just three months ago but amassed a combined 20 million downloads on the App Store and Google’s Play Store on its first day alone.
