MPL ID Season 8 is the most-watched esports two months in a row
Numbers don’t lie.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia Season 8(MPL Season 8) has amassed millions of fans who enjoy witnessing the best MLBB teams in Indonesia.
It’s so massive, in fact, that MPL ID Season 8 smashed the record for the most popular esports tournament in the world in terms of viewership in August and September 2021.
MPL ID Season 8’s viewership count
According to a report byEsports Charts, the match between RRQ Hoshi and Alter Ego garnered a peak viewership count of 1,174,536, the highest for the month of September.
In second place isVCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters Berlinat 811,370, and ESL Pro League Season 14 at 758,567 peak viewers.
Last August, the match between RRQ Hoshi and EVOS Legends was also the most watched esports tournament in the world with 1,721,921 peak viewers.
LCK 2021 Summer and LEC Summer 2021 came in next, with 1,315,659 and 843,491 peak viewers respectively.
Will MPL ID Season 8 smash records once again for the month of October?
The MPL ID Season 8 playoffs will begin in October, where teams will fight for the opportunity to represent Indonesia in the upcomingM3 World Championship in December.
With that, it’s highly likely that we’ll see the viewership count smash the record once again.
