However, the league insisted that it is still hoping to return to holding live competitions within the season once it safe for its players, teams, and fans to do so.

“The Overwatch League was built to deliver season after season of live, city-based events in front of our amazing fans. While we are collectively facing an incredibly challenging time, we hope to get back to live events before 2020 season concludes, and we are working hand-in-hand with all our teams to make this happen as soon as it’s safe and logistically feasible,” the Overwatch League said in astatement.

The league also added that they will be releasing information regarding this season’s playoffs and Grand Finals sometime soon. While there is still hope among the league’s players, teams, executives, and fans that the postseason can still be held live, the evolution of the coronavirus crisis will surely be decisive in the league’s eventual decision.
