Polaris Esports parts ways with players, other offers ‘too far out of reach’

Southeast Asian organization Polaris Esports is mutually parting ways with its roster after the players received substantial offers from other clubs.
John “Natsumi-” Vargas, Mc “Lelouch-” Villanueva, Nikko “Force” Bilocura, Marvin “Xavius” Rushton, and Nico “eyyou” Barcelon will no longer be playing under the Polaris banner, theSEA org announced yesterday.
In their official statement, Polaris said that they were unable to “go toe to toe with the financial capabilities of other, much larger, and established organizations.”
“There were offers for the players that were too far out of our reach and there are also wishes from our members to go and try a different environment,” the org wrote in its statement.
Will ex-Polaris stay together?
Considering the team’s results in a crowded SEA field, the roster might have been bought out entirely by another organization — though no concrete announcement has been made by any of the players.
Polaris was only one game away from directly qualifying to The International 11, falling to Talon Esports in a tense five-game series during the Regional Qualifiers.
The team then secured an upper bracket berth in the Last Chance Qualifier — with the same record as eventual TI11 grand finalists Team Secret — but fell in back to back series against Team Liquid and the unfavored Wildcard Gaming.
The team had continued to play together after TI11, winning theAsia Pacific Predator League 2022.
