Ready to see G2 Rekkles? The LEC Spring Split starts this January 2021
It will most likely be played online.
The professionalLeague of LegendsEuropean scene will be filled with EU-phoria once again as theLECannounced its start date for Spring Split 2021.
The Spring European Championship will begin on Friday, January 22. The same ten teams we’ve seen last competitive season (save for a freshly-named Astralis) will be participating in the Split, this time with slightly different players and imports.
Unlike theLeague of Legends Championship Series (LCS)that underwent a format change, the LEC regular season will follow the same tournament format as last year’s best-of-ones in a double round robin. It will be played online if the current health and safety guidelines around Europe remain unchanged,according to LEC Commissioner Maximilian “Riot Max the X” Schmidt.
Fans are super excited to see bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, whotransferred from Fnatic to G2 Esports, former LCS player Sergen “Broken Blade” Çelik who was acquired by Schalke 04, and promising top laner İrfan Berk “Armut” Tükek as the newcomer from TCL’s Papara SuperMassive to MAD Lions.
