Riot and Twitch announce Twitch Rivals: Teamfight Tactics Showdown
Riot’s Auto Chess game gets its first official tournament.
Teamfight Tacticsdeveloper, Riot, has teamed up with streaming platform Twitch to create Twitch Rivals: TFT Showdown.
TFT Showdown will commence on July 17-18 with 64 streamers set to compete. On day one, the competitors will fight for a cash prize of US$100,000 and a spot in day two.
With a morning and afternoon bracket each consisting of 32 players, all contestants will play a total of five matches to earn a cash prize depending on their placement. The top eight of each bracket will continue to the next day.
Day two will have the best TFT players competing for US$25,000. This time, each player will only play four games for the cash prize.
The top eight players of day two will also play “one final, winner-take-all, match for US$5,000 and bragging rights”.
While the tournament will be on NA servers, Riot will be inviting streamers from across the world, representing other regions such as Latin America and Europe.
