Riot announces its Valorant esports plans for SEA
Riot’s First Strike competitions are set to begin for the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Riot Games Southeast Asia has announced its 2021 Esports and Collegiate Competitive Plans for Valorant.
In a press release shared with ONE Esports, Riot explained that these regional tournaments will provide opportunities for players across Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, so that they may begin building their regional legacies throughout the official Valorant esports and collegiate circuit.
The company has also appointed partners who will roll out the official esports and collegiate tournaments in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, and Hong Kong:

In Southeast Asia, the appetite for Valorant esports has been tremendous and we are pleased to partner with the region’s leading esports organizations to introduce new heights of competitive play to the region,” said Chris Tran, Head of Esports at Riot Games Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The same partners will also be runningRiot’s regional First Strike competitionsin their respective regions. For those who are interested in signing up, registration pages have been linked for each country.
Mineski will be hosting competitions for thePhilippines. ESL will be hosting competitions forThailand. ONE Up will be hosting competitions forIndonesia. The Gaming Company will be hosting competitions forSingaporeandMalaysia. Finally, Talon will be hosting competitions forTaiwan and Hong Kong.
Registration for the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia begins on October 14; while for Singapore and Malaysia, on October 17. Taiwan and Hong Kong will begin registration on November 1.
