Riot Games reveals Sage as Valorant’s first support agent
Sage already looks like a must-pick.
Sage is the fourth character Riot Games has revealed for Valorant. The highly anticipated tactical first-person shooter is expected to have at least 10 characters available at launch.
Sage hails from China and is the first support agent Riot has announced. As a support character, Sage’s abilities are going to play a key role in allowing teams to win matches.

Abilities
Slow Orb— Cast out an orb that breaks into a slowing field upon impact with the ground. All caught in the field are slowed, grounded, and make noise when moving.Barrier Orb— Conjure a large, solid wall. Right-click to rotate the wall before casting.Healing Orb— Heal an ally or yourself to full health over a few seconds.Resurrection— Target a friendly corpse. After a short delay, revive them with full health.
Sage’s Resurrection ultimate will likely make her a must-pick, as the game does not have a respawn mechanic.
Valorant has been compared to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and with the game revealing four of its characters, it is easy to see why. The first character revealed wasPhoenix, whose abilities fit perfectly as an entry fragger — a player who makes first contact and gets a crucial opening kill.
Next wasViper, who’s chemical cloud abilities make her an ideal lurker — someone who silently roams map and catches opponent off guard.
Then there isSova, who is the designated sniper. In most competitive first-person shooters, the sniper role acts as the team’s carry since they’re expected to do the most amount of damage.
