Sentinels bring back TenZ to finish VCT Americas season amid reports of team shakeup

He’s back!

Tyson “TenZ” Ngohas officially returned to Sentinels Valorant roster after atwo-week hiatusto recover from COVID-19 and a left index finger injury.

In anannouncement videoshared by the organization on May 10, coach Adam “kaplan” Kaplan was about to provide an update on the team’s status, only to be interrupted by TenZ’s unexpected appearance, confirming his return.

During weeks 4 to 6 of theVCT Americas regular season, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen substituted for TenZ on the Sentinels’ roster, and the team suffered three losses in their last four matches.

TenZ to play in Sentinels’ remaining VCT Americas regular season matches

Sentinels have yet to announce which player on the team will be moved to the bench to make room for TenZ’s return.

However, Valorant esports insider George Geddes reported that the North American esports organization is set to part ways with the team’s in-game leader, Rory “dephh” Jackson.

“They didn’t cut dephh,” said Geddes in his Twitch stream. “They parted ways with him. It was a mutual decision.”

Sentinels’ roster change comes after a 2-0 loss to Evil Geniuses in Week 6 of VCT Americas. The team is now pulling out all the stops as they attempt to win their last two regular season matches and possibly qualify for the playoffs.

At the time of writing, Sentinels sits in 8th place in the VCT Americas standings with a 2-5 record. Only 6 out of the 10 teams in the league will advance to the playoffs.

Sentinels must win their last two matches to qualify, while the two teams ranked above them with 3-4 records – EG and 100 Thieves – must lose their remaining games.

TenZ will return to the team on May 14, 12 p.m. PT | 7 p.m. GMT | May 15, 3 a.m. GMT+8 when Sentinels faces KRÜ Esports in Week 7.
