Sentinels re-sign TenZ, but their Valorant roster remains uncertain

Sentinels has officially announced the re-signing of their Valorant superstar,Tyson “TenZ” Ngo.
The North American esports organization posted a skit on their social media on September 9. In the video, content creator Tarik “Tarik” Celik appears on an edited version of the reality TV show Shark Tank, seeking an investment for Sentinels.
The video confirmed that TenZ will remain with Sentinels. However, it did not clarify whether theMasters Reykjavik 2021 MVPwill continue to compete on their Valorant roster or shift into a full-time content creating role.
Sentinels says TenZ is staying
In the Shark Tank parody video, Tarik initially faced challenges convincing the show’s investors to support Sentinels, a lighthearted way of acknowledging the organization’srecent financial difficulties, which were publicly disclosed a month ago.
The investors immediately changed their tune once Tarik brought out TenZ and announced that he was “staying for good.”
TenZ was one of the most prominent players in theVCT Americas League, and his contract was going to expire this year, according to theVCT global contract database.
While he will be staying with Sentinels, the video didn’t specify whether he would take on a role as a content creator or remain part of their VCT Americas League roster.
Several former professional players have transitioned into content creation and joined Sentinels, including Tarik and Apex Legends sensation Brandon “aceu” Winn.
The strongest indication that TenZ might be returning to the roster is his resposting of the Shark Tank skit with the caption, “Run it back on Yoru.”
TenZ is among the few Valorant pros whoplays Yoru in the VCT. His last game using the Japanese duelist was against 100 Thieves in the VCT Americas Last Chance Qualifier, during which Sentinels secured a fourth place finish.
