Smash player Ember sets 65-hour world record for continuously playing fighting games
That’s about three straight days full of fighting games!
Justin “Ember” Jackson has set a new record for playingfighting gamesfor the longest time.
His journey started last week on November 8, where he livestreamed himself playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Ember’s goal was to surpass the57-hour recordof co-Smash player Daniel Bergman in Guinness World Records’ official category “longest videogame marathon on a fighting game”.
For his record to qualify, Ember has to play his game of choice for the longest time possible and was allowed only 10 minutes of rest time each hour.
This man@Emberifyyis currently working on beating one of the World Records of Guinness World Records, for this he is streaming for 65 hours. (Crazy right?!) I think that is very cool, and you can check him out athttps://t.co/LhRLk5xzINduring this.#Twitch#GuinnessWorldRecordpic.twitter.com/XWJkRm4ISn
After a grueling 65 hours worth of playing his favorite fighting game title, Ember succeeded. His feat will, however, only be confirmed by Guinness early next year.
After trials and tribulations I am finally triumphant, shout out to all that came out to@gamerbusand played and to all that watched, without y’all I wouldn’t have made it. Now the 3 month wait for Guinness to confirm it lolpic.twitter.com/zlixIJ8YWv
The proceeds of Ember’s stream will be donated to his chosen charity, the Chesapeake Chapter of the NAACP, according to areport by Dexerto.
