T1 Valorant rounds out roster with Overwatch star Munchkin
Reuniting with his former teammates.
T1 Valoranthave completed their roster withByeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom. The former Overwatch star made a name for himself in the Overwatch League as a DPS player for the Seoul Dynasty, before eventually switching to Valorant withCloud9 Korea.
T1 recently bolstered their Valorant roster with theaddition of Son “xeta” Seon-ho and head coach Yoon “Autumn” Eu-teum, after theduo asked to jointhe South Korean organization. Xeta replaces Rahul “curry” Nemani, who was traded to Cloud9.
Munchkin’s signing reunites him with xeta and Autumn, both of whom were also part of the original Cloud9 Korea team.
T1 may be out of the 2022 VCT season, but the organization clearly has its sights set on rebuilding for2023. It has made changes to its coaching staff as well, releasing head coach David Denis earlier in May.
T1 Valorant is stacked with Korean talent
Despite its mixed nationality roster, T1 CEO Joe Marsh has reaffirmed the organization’s intention to stay in North America for the VCT.
Munchkin brings with him experience on Valorant’s international stage. He was a member of the Crazy Raccoon roster that competed at Masters Reykjavik,Berlin, andChampionslast year. In 2022, the team came close to qualifying forStage 1 Masters, but fell short toZeta Divisionin the grand final in VCT Japan.
The 24-year-old had originally left the Japanese team in December in search of new opportunities, but ended up returning to Crazy Raccoon for VCT Japan Stage 1.

Munchkin is primarily known for his aggressive play on the duelist agents, so he may be taking on the role of entry-fragger for his team.
