Tetris 99 Big Block DLC adds two offline game modes
Get ready to get rekt by the AI.
Nintendo’s new “Big Block” DLC for Tetris 99 provides players with a way to play offline in two different game modes.
CPU Battle mode puts you up against 98 bots in the game’s signature Battle Royale mode. If you aren’t confident enough for online play just yet, this is your best bet for some practice under pressure.
The second mode is Marathon, an endless game mode that challenges you to clear lines for as long as possible.
The Tetris 99 Big Block DLC is available now for US$9.99. Nintendo also teased on Twitter that more game modes will be revealed soon.

Along with the new game modes, Nintendo also announced that the next Maximus Cup online event will run from May 17 to 19. All players with a Nintendo Switch Online membership will be eligible to enter.
The event will award points for each match played. The higher you finish, the more points you’ll earn. Any participants who earn 100 points during the event will unlock an in-game theme inspired by the original Tetris for Game Boy.
