The NBA franchise is the latest team to add an official 2K League esports team.
The Charlotte Hornets will be joining the next season of the NBA 2K League with its new pro gaming team, the Hornets Venom GT.
The team will join 22 other NBA-affiliated teams.
“With Charlotte being one of the fastest growing millennial markets, this helps us get our name out there in esports,” Charlotte Hornets President and Vice Chairman Charles Whitfield said during an interview with theCharlotte Observer.
