The Fusion Rocket League tournament will have a US$50,000 combined prize pool
The competition will combine 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 formats.
Rocket League caster, John “Johnnyboi_i” MacDonald, has announced Fusion, a new Rocket League tournament for North America and Europe with a combined US$50,000 prize pool.
The tournament has a unique format, with each team playing in each of the three types of games: 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3. Once the two teams in the series have completed the three different modes, the remaining games will be chosen by each team.
With players having a choice on which modes to pick by the fourth game, the tournament will not put a cap on how many times a mode can be played. Hypothetically, any of the three modes can be played up to three times if the series allows it.
This format will be used for both the NA and EU qualifiers, which will run from May 21 to 22.
When the main tournaments begin, teams will be granted points based on their performance in each mode. The main event will then separate each game mode into its own bracket with a single-elimination, best-of-seven series set-up.
The NA tournament will run from May 25-31 while the EU tournament will happen a week later on June 1-7.
You’ll be able to watch the tournament on Johnnyboi_i’sTwitch channel.
