New region, new mechanics. The two most important termsGenshin Impactplayers need to know when traversing Natlan are Phlogiston and Nightsoul Blessing.
Phlogiston is a type of mineral found in the Pyro region, which the mining tribe Children of Echoes are especially familiar with. They affect anyone who steps into Natlan.

What is Phlogiston in Genshin Impact?
Natlan, a realm imbued with Pyro energy, introduces a novel resource called Phlogiston. This fiery substance exists in various forms and serves as a vital component for both everyday life and combat.
When inhabiting aSaurian, players will notice a dedicatedPhlogiston barthat depletes when using abilities. Additionally, Natlan characters possess their own Phlogiston gauge displayed above their health bar — the orange bar above the HP bar in the screenshot above.
The dynamic flow of this mineral creates pathways known as Spiritways, allowing certain Saurians and characters to traverse the land with greater speed.
What is Nightsoul Blessing in Genshin Impact?
Natlan characters possess a unique combat state known as Nightsoul’s Blessing, which enhances both mobility and combat capabilities.
Note that it is only applicable to characters from the Natlan region, seen in the curved bar next toMualaniin the screenshot above.
Typically activated through Elemental Skills, this state is tracked by aNightsoul bardisplayed on the left side of the character’s interface.
