When does Warzone Caldera shut down? A piece of history is ending

Farewell, old friend.

Call of Duty WarzoneCaldera took the world by storm as the second map added to the battle royale portion of the popular franchise.

Warzone took over a large portion of the industry starting with its release in 2020, but Caldera won’t be continuing any further.

Warzone Caldera comes to an end, servers will be shutting down

Caldera certainly wasn’t the most popular release, with many of the games players still largely preferring the original map, Verdansk, over the new tropical island.

According toActivision Blizzard, “As of July 22, 2025,Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Calderawill shut down, as our teams focus on future Call of Duty content including the currentWarzonefree-to-play experience.”

However, if you’re wondering what happens to your purchased content, it should be safe.

“Regarding purchased content in Warzone Caldera – from Modern Warfare® (2019), Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard– that will continue to be accessible in those specific games,” Activision Blizzard clarified in theofficial post.

Also important to note is that this will not impact multiplayer in Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard.

In addition, Activision Blizzard told fans to “Please note that the Warzone Caldera shut down has no impact to current Warzonegameplay, inventory, or player progression in Al Mazrah or the other available maps, and we look forward to continuing with you in that new Warzone experience.”
