Aside from their record-breaking revenue, Genshin Impact also made waves on social media every time the developers announced new playable characters.
Genshin Impact tops the charts for most talked-about game on Twitter last year
Genshin Impact dominated the Twitterverse in 2021. The game took the top spot when it comes to tweets, beating other established, triple-A games such asFinal FantasyandAnimal Crossingaccording to ablog post released by Twitter.
The data came from Twitter’s own analytics, which surveyed records from January 1 to Jul 18, 2025.
MiHoYo’s regular updates and announcements on new releases, locations, events, and even character birthday celebrations took the social media platform by storm.Zhongli, Klee, andthe Raiden Shogunare just some of the characters that made it to Twitter’s trending tab.
Aside from Genshin, othergachagames also made it to the list such as Ensemble Stars!, Fate/Grand Order, and Project Sekai.
